What does the Dyness LV Link-A Communication Box do?

The Dyness LV Link-A Communication Box creates a shared communication link between multiple Dyness LV lithium batteries installed in parallel. It connects the individual BMS units over a CAN or RS485 bus so they share real-time state of charge and voltage data. This allows the hybrid inverter to manage the entire battery bank as a single unit, producing balanced charging and discharging across all batteries in the parallel installation.

Do I need the LV Link-A if I only have one Dyness battery?

No. The LV Link-A is required only when two or more Dyness LV batteries are installed in parallel. A single Dyness LV battery connects directly to the inverter communication port without the LV Link-A. The LV Link-A is the bridge that co-ordinates BMS communication when the bank contains multiple units.

What happens if I install multiple Dyness batteries in parallel without the LV Link-A?

Without the LV Link-A, each Dyness LV battery BMS operates independently and cannot share state of charge data with the other units. The inverter reads only the first battery's state of charge and cannot see the full bank. This causes uneven charging where some cells overcharge while others are undercharged. Over time this reduces total bank capacity and can trigger premature BMS shutdowns on individual units.

How many Dyness LV batteries can the LV Link-A support?

The Dyness LV Link-A supports parallel installations of multiple Dyness LV battery units. Check the Dyness LV Link-A product page and your specific Dyness LV battery model datasheet for the maximum number of units supported in a single parallel bank. Can the Dyness LV Link-A work with other battery brands?

No. The Dyness LV Link-A Communication Box uses Dyness-specific communication protocols and is compatible only with Dyness LV battery models. It is not compatible with other lithium battery brands including Dyness HV models, HinaEss, Gotion, Shoto, or any other LiFePO4 battery from a different manufacturer. For other battery brands, use the communication accessories specified by the relevant manufacturer.

Can battery accessories help protect my system during Eskom outages?

Battery accessories like the Dyness LV Link-A extend the effectiveness of your battery bank during outages by ensuring all parallel batteries charge and discharge evenly.
