Warranty Policy
SP-Energy supplies solar equipment and installs solar systems for homes, businesses and farms across South Africa. Every product we sell carries the manufacturer warranty for that brand. This page explains what each warranty covers, what it excludes, and how to lodge a claim with our team in Vanderbijlpark.
Warranty periods differ by product and brand, ranging from 1 to 10 years. The exact period for your item is confirmed on the product page or on your quotation.
Warranty Cover Per Product Type
The periods below are typical for the brands we stock, including Deye, Luxpower, Dyness, Greenrich, JA Solar and Jinko.
- Inverters: 1 to 5 years, covering hybrid, off-grid and 3-phase units such as a Luxpower inverter
- Lithium batteries: 5 to 10 years
- Solar panels: 10 to 12 years
- Solar air conditioners: 1 to 2 years
- Workmanship on installations by SP-Energy: 12 months
Browse the Greenrich battery range to check the warranty listed against each capacity.
What The Warranty Covers
Warranties cover manufacturing defects and faulty parts under normal use. Where a defect is confirmed, the item is repaired or replaced according to the manufacturer terms for that brand.
How To Claim
- Email inquiry@sp-energy.co.za with your original invoice and proof of purchase
- Include the serial number for any battery or inverter claim
- Describe the fault, and attach photos or a short video where possible
- Wait for our technical team to confirm the next step, which may include testing
- Return the unit as instructed, or arrange a site visit for installed systems
- Receive a repair, replacement or manufacturer decision once inspection is complete
Warranty claims are handled separately from returns. If your item is unused and within 7 days, see our Returns and Refunds Policy instead.
Warranty Exclusions
- Incorrect installation by third parties
- Lightning or surge damage
- Water damage
- Physical damage
- Unauthorised repairs or tampering
- Normal wear and expected performance decline
Correct sizing and installation protect your warranty. Ask us for free system sizing before you buy.
Your Rights Under The CPA
This policy runs alongside the Consumer Protection Act, and does not limit your statutory rights. The Act gives you a 6 month right to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for purpose. Where the CPA gives you stronger cover than a manufacturer warranty, the CPA applies. Our full trading terms are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
